Saturday 10th March Mother’s Day Disco at Mepal Village Hall

On the 10th March the committee organised a Mother’s Day Disco at Mepal Village Hall raising £380.

It was great to see so many Pre-School families past and present as well as some new families with younger children who we hope will be joining us soon.

Children enjoyed dancing the night away at the disco whilst spending their pocket money on the sweetie pick and mix and temporary tattoo and glow-stick stalls. Children re-fuelled on hotdogs whilst the parent were able to tuck into a yummy beef or vegetarian chilli with jacket potatoes. Mums were turned into ‘Mummies’ with the help of many rolls of toilet paper and lots of laughing!

The evening ended with two very generous raffles, one for the adults and another for the children and all the mummies went home with beautiful potted plant.

Friday 9th February – Sponsored Pancake Flip

The children at Mepal and Witcham Preschool have raised an amazing £400 from their sponsored pancake flipping event which was held Friday 9th February. Despite poor weather conditions, the children gave it their all and demonstrated very skilful flipping. The more pancakes flipped the more money was earned. This was especially impressive as the frying pans were quite heavy.

All the children had voted for the toy they would like to buy with the sponsorship money, which was a great incentive for the children to try their best. Fortunately, as so much money was raised the children can have all the toys they voted for. The children will now have an impressive collection of small world character sets and fairy houses to enhance their imaginary play.
